this bit of z is a reminder of a project i featured on inspirational update °32, the yas hotel by asymptote. back then, it was just a fancy architectural render seen on dezeen, and its always great to see such cool projects come to life. by clicking the picture below, you can get further infos on the project on designboom, another cool blog about everything design-related.

here is the link to a great article about how to get into the design-business in the beginning. abduzeedo seems to be gettin’ better and better lately, so be shure to check it out. it can give you a little direction if you want to start a graphic design career and i would say it’s a good read for that purpose.

i discovered this wallpaper pack the other day over at deviantart and started to use it. and it is simply great to get through autumn with this very clean and crisp wallpaper. it made me even change my mobile’s wallpaper to this, a thing i rarely do (and i had to customize it myself, just for personal use though). and after i got some friends to use it themselves, i thought why not share it with the world. so here i proudly present: rainy day by kionee.

here comes the second piece of “a bit of z” and today i want to promote a site already pretty big. i’m talking about ted.com, a video website dedicated to enable the viewer to watch the videos of the ted-talks, where designers, artists, scientists, politicians and all kinds of other people get the chance to give a talk about a specific topic, mostly to make the world a better place or giving you their views on their profession and the world they live in. it is pretty interesting to watch these talks, because it gives you the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of people working on the constant change. and this gives you the possibility to look at things from other points of views or become aware of problems and solutions you never thought about.

so give it a look, search for someone you’d always wanted to hear talking or just click yourself through their categories and be inspired. i enjoyed a lot of their talks including those of daniel liebeskind, phillipe starck, stefan sagmeister and many more.

a bit of z °1

here comes a new category named “a bit of z”. under this topic i’ll post a variety of things such as my own projects, unique works that i want to share outside of the big banks of the “inspirational update” or other pieces, that i would like to publish here.

first comes a poster i did as a little practice to work on my photoshopskills and because i just need a new poster for my renovated room. topic was president obamas famous “change” catchphrase wich was used during his election campaign. and unlike he promised the change to his country, i wanted to do a poster to remind me to change myself as well. because change means evolution, sometimes even great progress and an important process of self-reflection, which more people should start to undergo, i thought this would be a great topic to do a poster on. but enough talkin’, here is the piece:
